We apologize for this inconvenience.

Rockbridge Vineyard is the fruition of Shepherd Rouse’s dream to make fine wine in his native state of Virginia. After several years of education and experience in the wine industry, Shep returned home, purchased a farm in northern Rockbridge County in the Shenandoah Valley, at a higher elevation than most Virginia vineyards and began planting grapes. From this palette, Rouse is able to produce a full spectrum of wines to match a broad range of individual tastes. His motto is “All Virginia, All the time.”
We take our name from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, known as the “breadbasket of the confederacy” during the US Civil War. The wine made from grapes grown in the valley has a pronounced fruit character, with emphasis from climate and soil. Warm days and cool nights promote ripening while maintaining fruit flavor and bouquet and valley breezes help dry and encourage healthy foliage. We invite you to sample a taste of Shenandoah.
Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery
Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery is a family owned and operated farm winery born from our commitment to preserve the rural beauty of the Commonwealth, our desire to build a legacy for future generations of our family, and our passion for Virginia Wine. Located just south of Winchester near Stephens City, our 18 acre farm is steeped in history. The focus of our winery is our Tasting House, a Federal style brick manor house dating back to 1807 and the namesake of our business – Valerie Hill.
The Bogaty Family hails from the Italian Alps where, even today, members of the Bogaty family still own and operate a small vineyard. A generation later, Jim decided that it was time to return the family to its roots. Three generations of the Bogaty family, Jim and Della, along with their son, Justin, daughters Tiffany and Ashley, and numerous grandchildren continue the legacy of the family’s tradition of excellence in winemaking. Being a family-owned winery absolutely affects our winemaking. As a family-run business, we put the long-term interests of future generations above short-term financial gains. Veramar’s success is measured by generations, rather than by numbers in quarterly reports.
